One Out of Three

Jere Ellis - 1985 Monkey Bidness Music

"One Out of Three" has the peculiar distinction of having been recorded three different times, but only one of the recordings has seen the light of day.  Written as a sarcastic view of Jere's own success (or lack thereof) in the music business, it is a fun little rocker that everyone likes to play.

It also holds the distinction of bringing the band out of its funk following the move to California by Wardlaw, with John teaching Jere that the band could record without Wardlaw; it would just sound different.

Bill Cole - drums, percussion, backing vocals;  Jere Ellis - bass, rhythm and lead guitars, lead and backing vocals;  John Nichols - piano, synth horns, backing vocals;  Wardlaw Steele - EWI horns
