The Dirty Quarters
Singles ... the Album (2012-2020)
Until Barking Dawg closed for the pandemic, the Quarters had decided that, after "Dirty Quarters and Wooden Nickels," that waiting to put out a lot of music all at once was far much less fun than releasing all the songs as singles, one at a time. These are the final ten singles, including a couple never heard before, recorded between 2012 and 2020, when the studio closed for good.
"Hangin' Around With the Hossman" - a song about one's teenaged years, spent listening to a radio legend
"Miss Informed" - Jere recorded Bill and John backing this young lady
"A Noose" - and old song by John, given a new treatment by the Quarters
"Daddy-O" - a rocker by Bill that never saw the light
"It's Over" - Jere's remake of a song from Bidnessmen's "Open Faux Bidness"
"Combo Man" - Jere and Ray's spoof of the lives of a cover band musician and their fans
"Kiss Kiss" - John's love song to his wife as a 13th anniversary present
"Where the Wind Goes" - another of the Quarters' "elemental" songs (floods, fires, now the wind)
"Young Man" - John's song about age catching up
"You're Only Lonely" Ray's cover of J.D. Souther's classic love song
