Bill Cole - 2005 Monkey Bidness Music

Billy Cole had written a song for some friends with whom he'd shared a weekend or two, at Bob's "Narrow View Cabin," on Center Hill Lake, in Sligo, TN.  He came in and wanted to record it quickly, as he wanted to play it for them and he was going to see them, soon.  As it happened, Jere and Stephanie were in Florida, at the beach, on vacation, and then, he made his "biggest mistake."

John got Jere to allow them to come record the song for Billy, and he, Billy D and John got together, without Jere.  John produced and engineered this intentionally crude recording (intentionally, because it was intended to evoke a spur of the moment jam, even though it wasn't one).  Billy and Billy D recorded the rhythm and bass guitars, respectively; and, then followed with overdubs - Billy D on electric guitar, and Bill Cole on a snare drum with brushes.  Next, they did the vocal parts and "Sligo" was complete.  It is still a hit today, with its intended audience, and that's all that matters, but we hope you like it, too.

Bill Cole - rhythm guitar, drums, lead and backing vocals;

Bill Davidson - bass and lead guitars, backing vocals;  John Nichols - backing vocals
