This Woman That I Know

Bill Cole - 2020 Monkeybidness Music

Upon request and little needling from the guys, Billy brought in an old song he'd never gotten recorded, a little jazzy piece reminiscent of Bidnessmen's "Take Her to Her Dreams" and "Timber Cove."  This set off a flurry of creativity in the studio, with Ray working with Billy and John on percussion ideas; Jere smiling through another "Mole" bass part; and then, Edwin and John worked together on the keyboard arrangement, picking out the best of Edwin's licks and playfully dubbing themselves, "Keys, Inc."

As luck would have it, it is the last song recorded at Barking Dog Studio before it closed due to the year-long, COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, thus ending the regular Sunday creative sessions that began for Jere, Billy, Wardlaw, Peter and Jimmy Callaway back in the late 1970's and continued through the Howard, Howard and Fine years (in its multiple incarnations), The Cole, Ellis and Steele years, the Backstroke/Bidnessmen era and the final, Dirty Quarters years  -  and so, with the help from his friends, the last song recorded at Barking Dog Studio by Monkeybidness Music, here is Billy's "This Woman That I Know."

Bill Cole - acoustic guitar, lead and backing vocals

with:

Ray Crabtree - drums, percussion; Jere Ellis - bass guitar;

Edwin Milam - pianos, electric piano; and John Nichols - electric piano, organ
