Walk In the Shade
Bill Cole Monkey Bidness Music
Billy wrote this song while strolling through the Warner Parks in SW Nashville. The parks are well maintained and are known for their forests as well as their fields, that Nashvillians hike through stroll through and ride horses through on the horse paths. It is a quiet, peaceful place and that led to "Walk In the Shade," a band favorite. The record was first included on Cole, Ellis and Steele's Christmas 1984 collection, but Jere pulled out the four-track tape, migrated the tracks to his digital workstation and added John's organ, Wardlaw's sax, Jimi Vandegrift on slide guitar and Jere, Billy D and John singing the backing vocals to what was a minimalist cut, before.
Bill Cole - piano, lead vocal; Bill Davidson - backing vocal; Jere Ellis - bass guitar, backing vocal;
Peter Keeble - drums; John Nichols - organ, backing vocal; Wardlaw Steele - tenor sax;
Jimi Vandegrift - slide guitar
